ACCI Stands For:
Increased Workforce
Participation by Mature
Age Workers
Policy Principles:
Generally, governments regard people 45 years and above as mature aged.
Treating this large group of people in the labour market with one 'broad brush'
solution is unfair and unrealistic.
Therefore it is imperative that effective policies segment this group and different
strategies are adopted to meet different elements of the group.
Policy Objectives:
A comprehensive whole of government approach in consultation with industry
which:
- Addresses the issues and opportunities arising out of the ageing of the Australian
workforce
- Addresses short, medium and long-term objectives
- Addresses the needs of those post-65 years of age, the group currently between
45 and 64 and younger people who will face these issues in later life
