On the 4th of December 2008, under the theme of 'a proud past,
a confident future' ACCI launched one of the few histories of private sector in Australia Captains of Industry: A biography of the Presidents of the Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Captains of Industry highlights the prominence and contribution
of leaderscaptains-of-industry2-(1).jpg from the employer and industry network in the history of Australia.

From colonial times, these leaders made significant contributions to the Australia that we know today. While they were particularly active and influential in business and government, many of their names continue to resonate in our 'day to day' lives including Holden, Simpson, Seppelt, Drake-Brockman, Kitchen and Wollstonecraft.
